My mom’s MC called, then hospice social worker who visited. Dementia is advancing. She fell again (getting out of chair), doesn’t use walker, was up all night. I saw her last night and it’s true she REALLY just wants to constantly be walking around. They said the redirection has been hard. They have to lock peoples rooms because she goes in. She’s finally asleep.

They want to try a low dose of trazadone if I’m ok with it. Any concerns?

They said her symptoms are all things they have seen. It’s just hard. What is best for me to do at this stage?

My DH has been on Trazodone for 3 months. He sleeps very well and that along with some Seroquel has him in a usually good mood.

We tried trazadone with mom, but eventually switched her to mirtrazipine ( generic Remeron). It did better keeping her asleep at night. Eventually sertraline was added too. None of that seemed to have any side affects for her.
