To My Fellow Warriors

This journey is the worst, yet we all get up, stiffen our spines and get back at taking good care of our LOs. We get irritable, cry, depressed, exhausted, and we still get up and take good care of our LOs. We put our needs second to make sure our LOs are safe and comfortable and get up the next day and do it again. Sometimes, we get a moment of a smile or a laugh or an hour free and try our best to hold onto it in the middle of sadness and pain. Even though we think we might not make it through this, we somehow still do.

We are care warriors, my friends, and I celebrate that in all of you…and in me.

Thank you Cindybum perfect insight and realising that you are not alone is amazing. We managed the theatre yesterday afternoon Juliette the musical. Slow going up a small flight of stairs slow going shuffling into the seat especially chosen on the end of the isle, slow going standing and protecting my DH from the masses. Enjoyment to see his reaction to the music and dancing. It took an hour to slowly get dressed and ready for the show. But I was proud of myself I’ve learnt to be slow and gentle, think first act slowly second. Understand his needs of food drink toilet and dressing. Exhausting but I felt so proud of myself. I hope that’s not bad. Then this morning I laid in bed and silently cried.
