Dealing with incontinence & assisted living

My mom has had incontinence for awhile now and wearing depends. I got a call from her assisted living saying her incontinence has gotten worse. She doesn't even realize she is wet. My mom is still mobile and active. In reading up on it, looks like this is pretty common. Does anyone have any tips on how they dealt with it? I shared with the family and encouraged them to get something to protect car seats for when driving her. I'm sending clothes to them to help if she has an accident when out. But how do you deal with AL? Her dignity and cleanliness? Looking for any guidance from your experience.

there are liners you can get to wear with depends. Perhaps it’s time for memory care rather than AL? They are better equipped to deal with incontinence. They prefer adult diapers or incontinence wear that has tabs for easier changing. They also take them to the toilet often to reduce accidents.

My mom started with regular depends. Then switched to overnight depends even during the day. From there I switched her to heavy tena pad I found on Amazon. Even the really heavy pads won’t work if she is not charging them regularly. Would her al be willing to put her on some kind of schedule where they go in and remind her to change them every so many hours. If not, I agree it may be time for mc.
