My DH lost his wedding a while back but keeps thinking he just lost it. He just told me he lost his wedding ring and said “ I know I had it yesterday” but he didn’t. I’m concerned now cause of the distress this is causing him. I’m acting nonchalant but he’s clearly worried. Should I go buy a new one and pretend I found it? He lost it cause he lost a few pounds. And would he know it was different? He just keep relooping over and over. This is the 5 time in 15 minutes he’s asked😢 Thsnks

Hi Wose, I do anything I can to keep my sanity (which is priceless at this point). Just don't spend alot of money as you know he may lose it again. I am so sorry.

If not the ring, will he loop about something? It's always something, yes? Is he on any meds for anxiety?

I would replace it. It is worth a shot and possible peace it may bring. I would order from amazon, no doubt about it.

Replace the ring, anything that may lessen his anxiety is a plus for him and you.

Yes, a good idea to replace it. Perhaps you could leave it where he can “find” it? Then make a big deal about how great is is that he found it?

My dear wife was constantly losing things. I am sure you have already considered this but almost always I could find the lost item misplaced in the strangest places. I found rings, etc. "stored" in the container for Splenda, had to check all trash before discarding, found many items just misplaced in the most unusual places. This where the phrase "thinking outside the box" becomes reality as my wife thought she was storing the item in a safe place. Once found I would put the item in its normal location to be found easily. Over the years hard to recall a single "lost" item that was not discovered. Good luck helping him get relief for the anxiety it causes.
