My mother has been only averaging 2-4 hours a night. We’ve tried Melatonin and Zzzquil for extended periods and both don’t seem to work. Does anyone have any better solutions that have been helpful?

Fyi she hates tea (we tried the sleepy time and Chamomile).

I was debating on consulting her doctor on trying low dose marijuana edibles, but this also has mixed reviews as per my research.

Thanks in advance!

Sleep patterns get disrupted with dementia and there is no one thing that works. It is just a matter of trial and error. You seem to prefer nonprescription medications, so edibles would not be out of line. If you ever decide to go prescription trazadone is often used as a first attempt. Some end up using more than one medication. Melatonin is known for helping people go to sleep, but not keeping them asleep.

She’s on so many prescription meds that I’ve just been trying to find ways that are more natural I guess. Thanks for the input!
