Facebook Alzheimer/Dementia Group

I am curious if members here are aware of the Facebook group titled "Alzheimer's/Dementia Help & Support Group". A I have noted in other posts, I only learned about this forum later in my wife's condition but found it, and continue to do so, extremely helpful. Not being active at all on social media until very recently and limited to Facebook, I stumbled upon the group noted above. It seems to be quite active with people sharing experiences and actions to help their loved one. Between the Facebook group and this forum there is a wealth of information from those of us who are living, or lived, this horrible disease with a loved one. As in my questions above, I wonder if those using the Facebook group are aware of this forum. The value of interacting with those living through this as caregivers or loved ones is significant. The more people suffering in our shoes with whom we can share and learn is so helpful. I just wanted to offer up the Facebook group for those unaware as an additional source of support.

I was not a member of that FB group. I was a member of a different FB group. It was much more active than this forum… but there was much more drama on it. People calling each other out, insulting those who chose the facility path, etc. so watch for that

Thanks. Have not seen that as yet on the site noted in my post but will certainly be watchful. That is definitely a hallmark of this forum, non-judgemental, sharing, caring.

There are several on FB, but I find this site the most helpful. Some FB groups have members who are very judgmental, and that is not what any of us needs right now.

I joined a Facebook group (not sure which one) and I posted about my feelings after my husband’s diagnosis that Alzheimer’s is a terrifying and heartbreaking disease. The administrator sent me a private message saying I was being too negative and please stop posting that. I left the group and came here. I think more info is better so I will check out that group. Thank you for sharing.
