    Long post sorry... today my cousin called and tried to use examples of how to navigate my grief. He tried to like my loss to that of his brother ( not from dementia) I didn't tell him at the time that he was being insensitive and pushing me to get through it

    And now I am shattered again

    So sorry you experienced that. People think they are helping and know what they are talking about can be the worst at this. i learned quickly to forward information and tell as many family as possible to read and learn before speaking. Some did and now don't offer such comments and I appreciate their consideration. Maybe try sharing articles or Facebook posts, etc. with close family to help them learn. There are a few good sites outside this one where you might find information which you can use to try to educate others. Glad you came here to share your experience. We understand and support you to grieve as best for you and as long as it takes.
