Is there a zoom where folks are regularly meeting?

Hi there. I am new here - I am have intermittently active on the Mayo Clinic online platform for online support. I have been part-time caregiving for my mom the last few years now. In the last two years - the caregiving has pretty much become full-time. I am temporarily living back home with my parents to help my dad with my mom. She was recently diagnosed with late onset Alzheimer's with moderate dementia although I have known since her retirement nearly 13 years ago that something was not quite right.

I would like to make inperson or online connections with other caregivers caring for their parents (more specifically) but caregivers of ALZ to just secure a safe place to share versus bombarding family and friends with grief, frustration and other emotions that can be unfair to offload on them.

Anyone know more about inperson and/or online zoom meet ups for ALZ caregivers?

The Alzheimers Association sponsors in person and virtual support groups with trained facilitators. You can call 800 272 3900 or look for "support" on alz.org to find info on support groups. You can also call your Area Agency on Aging, local senior centers, or some of the larger AL/ MCs. Virtual support groups put together by people chatting on the the boards are rare because of the very real security concerns and other reasons, and do not tend to last very long.
