Need help with finding a new facility for my Dad in NY/NJ

My Dad has Alzheimer’s for the last 4 years and in the last year the disease has progressed with some combativeness, resistance to care and lack of inhibition. He has been discharged from two AL/MC facilities as I learned they are not equipped to deal with those symptoms of the disease. He has been hospitalized in geriatric psych hospital and is now on Rexulti and Depakote. But even minor symptoms are not acceptable for AL/MC places. I need to now most liked find a skilled nursing place but the one that can deal with this horrible disease behaviorally but just via the meds and sedation. Has anyone been successful in finding such a place and could you recommend any specific places or an approach to finding the right place. I didn’t know understand the behavioral nuances and the language previous places were not upfront about it and just wanted the contract to be signed. I would like to avoid learning this way. dad has been now in the hospital back and forth for 3 months and every time is a severe set back for him. Thanks.

I would start by looking at Medicare's website that gives star ratings to nursing homes.

Once you've selected a few you can call the admissions office and schedule a tour. I would look for places that have memory care or Alzheimer's care listed on their website.
