I'm new here

Hi, i'm a caregiver for my husband that was DX with early onset Alzheimers in 2022 at age 52. I work full time from home thankfully and am excited to have support from others that know what i'm going thru.

    Hi Jean

I am glad you found us. I am relatively new here as well. It is good to find others who are in this same situation who know, understand, and support each other. You will learn lots, and have many of your feelings, frustrations, and experiences validated.

God bless you and your DH (dear husband).

I second what @jgreen said. The first benefit I noticed from this forum was the validation of what I was feeling. So many of us go through such similar experiences and can understand and empathize with what you’re going through. Keep reading and posting- even if it’s just to vent on a bad day.

welcome. Sorry about your husband’s diagnosis. You are at the right place for info and support. We understand how you feel. If you haven’t done so, we recommend reading the book “The 36 Hour Day” and search online for dementia caregiving videos by Tam Cummings and Teepa Snow. 💜

Welcome Jean Miller, and very sorry about your husband’s dx! You’ve found a very special support group here, an eclectic group indeed, brought together by a common cause- this demon dementia. You will find this collective has a tremendous knowledge base with heart to match.
