The morning after....

Good morning all. It is the morning after my first Leqembi infusion. I had worked myself into a tizzy of fear that by the time I got to the infusion center I was trembling so uncontrollably I was almost unable to speak.

But... All went well. I had been told that since this was my first infusion that I would have to wait up to 8hrs post infusion to be observed for any negative reaction. I had packed toys, snacks, an 11hour long audio book etc but....

The whole ordeal took about an hour and 45 mins. Little to no negative reaction, a bit of a headache across the forehead as the infusion went in and the a bit of an upset tummy when I got home. Whew!!! It all went so well. Now, wait for two weeks and deja vu all over again. And you all are going to giggle, but I think it might already be helping 🤣 🤣 🤣 I feel a little more clear headed than normal this morning. However, in reality it probably because I had worked myself into such a tizzy for weeks in the anticipation of Infusion Day that now I am calm and "clear headed" this morning after getting a good night's sleep. 😊

I was also rather nervous for my first Leqembi infusion. It seems like a short time ago, but in actuality, my first infusion was in June 2024. I recently completed infusion #36. I've been lucky and have had no reactions and no ARIA. Only four more infusions left and then I'm hoping to switch to the subcutaneous version of Leqembi for maintenance dosing (i.e. the new IQLIK version of Leqembi, which can be self-administered at home via a simple device similar to an EpiPen).

Thanks LBC83 for sharing.... Whoo hoo!! I only have 39 more to go!! 🤣🥰I cannot believe how happy I am today. I am still really tired even after sleeping like 18 hours last night but I think the amount of anxiety I have been dealing with trying to get to this point has has been like a daily slog for about three years. I don't have any family, unless you count my cat, lol, so have been navigating this all on my own. Today is the most relaxed I have felt in a very very very long time. I hope this continues. I am keeping my fingers crossed. 🥰
