Exhausted and Bewildered
It is 522 AM and I have been up since 1AM trying to deal with my DW. She woke up claiming some men were raping her. I tried to calm her and tell her I was here with her. She when accused me of watching this all happen and that I did mothing. I tried denying all this , tried to assure her this was not happening and that I loved her and I would not do such a thing. This only led her into more anger, and she said I was not her husband. At that point I left the room to let her calm down.
I went back to her about 15 min later and she asked me if I could prepare her some food which I responded yes. Now all is OK for now with a period of lucidity. I am back to being her loving husband.
This is a crazy existence! All these ups and downs with mood swings and odd behaviors. Like I am living in an elevator that strains my sanity.
Thanks for listening….. had to let it out. We have another Dr appt this week to address our issues and perhaps explore possible solutions.

What an awful experience for you both! The sadness of this challenging behavior must be enormous. I hope the doctor has something to offer to quiet the delusions. The right pharmacology is sometimes all we can hope for to help our LO (and us caregivers) cope with this cruel disease.

I’m sorry you had this happen. We know our LO can’t help what they say to us but it is so hard not to take it personally and be hurt.
This disease is so cruel. I hope the rest of your day is more peaceful.2
