Using an agency for respite

I have two caregivers who come each week, 3 hour shifts 3 times a week. I don't think they are available for longer periods as they have regular schedules. I would like to take a 4-5 day break after the holidays —maybe go visit my sister in San Francisco. The agency I work with has sent nice people so far, but for a break I know he would get caregivers he doesn't know some of the time. He's not at all resistant to caregivers—I just had a new one start when one went to another job, and he was just fine. But I have no idea how he would do if I leave him with some new people for the respite. And how he will do with me being gone that long. I know from my failed attempt at MC this summer that he really misses me, but also know that I need more than a few scattered hours away each week to get a recharge. Has anyone successfully used an agency for that kind of break? I want to try this before I give MC another try (not that I have found any place that will be good—why aren't there some facilities that cater to men—corn hole instead of crafts!?) All suggestions greatfully received.

Some skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes offer 5 day respite, paid for by Medicare or VA. If he is on hospice it will covered 100%.

The memory care facility where we where living in the assisted living section offered 3 weeks of respite care which would allow me a trip back to the east coast to visit my sisters.
