I saw this on Facebook and it could have been written by many care warriors here. The line that hit home to me is: “Have a plan then make another”. 💜

This moving commentary was written by a daughter, caring for her mother.

Dear ones,
The day will come when your loved one can no longer be alone. Not even for 5 minutes.
The day will come when conversation is no longer possible.
The day will come when your loved one will not want to take a shower, change clothes, eat, brush their teeth or use the toilet. Most likely because they no longer remember how. And it scares them.
The day will likely arrive when there will be angry outbursts. Everything about their life is changing and they are scared.
The day will come when you cannot take them to church or a favorite restaurant.
Most likely the day will come when they do not recognize you and/or family. I discovered it did not matter, she did not know me. I knew her and she knew she was loved.
The day will come when you will be faced with decisions you don’t want to make.
Too soon is always better than too late.
Have a plan, then make another.
There is no rhyme or reason to this journey.
It is the disease. It is always the disease.
This journey creates care warriors.

Bless you and yours. 💜
dhoover.
