Swallowing Toothpaste & Mouthwash

My wife has unfortunately reached another stage in this dreaded journey. Things she could do just 3 months ago now seem like a dream. Any ideas how I can stop her swallowing the toothpaste & mouthwash?

not sure if toothpaste matters but mouthwash might. Make sure you’re buying non- alcoholic mouthwash. Sometimes letting things go that won’t hurt them or really matter works best. Something I’m trying to learn myself. It’s hard, our rolls keep changing in a way that we don’t realize it until we get “surprised” by something that hadn’t happened before. Pick your battles smartly. Best to you!

What has worked for me is that I keep the products hidden away until time for use and then I supervise the use of the products. Then I put them back in hiding when we are finished. I eventually had to apply this approach to every product in the bathroom as DW was doing unsafe and inappropriate things with all the various bathroom products (toothpaste, soaps, lotions, etc).

You can switch to using a non-fluoride toothpaste from the childrens section or a health food store. Mouthwash isn't really necessary. Even if she were using a prescription rinse, given her progression the risk would outweigh any benefit for her.
