Long distance
I am 52 years old and got my mom diagnosed with dementia and she 2 1/2 hours to three hours away and I am struggling with her declining. She was my best friend my rock and just looking for support and whoever else is out there that we can discuss this.

Welcome. This board doesn’t get as much traffic. You might want to post on caring for a parent. Does she have other family members near her? Is she living alone? One of the most important things to do in the beginning is to make sure legal matters are taken care of. She needs to appoint a durable power of attorney. I found I wanted to learn all that I could about dementia after my mom’s diagnosis. I find the unknown scary. I guess all of this is kind of scary too. This is tough stuff. The people on this site are kind, understanding, and helpful. I will attach a few resources I have found helpful.
