I understand what you’re going 33-year-old I am 52 and 1/2 to 3 hours away. My mom and I all the time on the phone and for like the last two years my husband and I have decline in conversation then she fell and was in the hospital and I went up to visit her and stayed at her house and saw the disarray of the house and that just did a number on me and I have not been the same since brought her to live with my husband and I for four months into home and that was pure hell and now I got her diagnosed and she is in a retirement home back in her hometown and again I’m back to phone because I’m trying to get myself strong to go see changes have happened in my life within the last six months to a year we moved she fell. She lived with us got her diagnosed placed her and now I’m dealing with anxiety, ADHD menopause and trying to process what she’s going through and moving from the city to the country and trying to get my self strong in my mind and body to process all of this

I relate to everything you’ve said, mtate. I’d be happy to connect and commiserate. I’m in the beginning of my caregiving journey and feel completely overwhelmed and alone. I’m the only living child, at 50 years old, of two parents with different stages of dementia.

welcome. So sorry about your Mom. We know how you feel. This is the best place for support. You can also call the toll free number 800-272-3900 and speak to someone at the Alzheimer’s Association. Also contact your local Agency on Aging. They may have resources in your area. Hugs. 💜

welcome. So sorry about your parents. You are at the right place for support. You can search the forum for specific things and post questions. The search thingy is at the top of the page. Read the book “The 36 Hour Day” which helped me after my husband’s diagnosis.
