Depakote and Benadryl showing positive results

We started adding depakote (125mg) and a low dose of Benadryl to the serequol on Friday and I am seeing benefits. For those who’ve seen some of my posts my DW is one who is literally on her feet all day from when she wakes up till bed with temazepam. Different levels of restlessness and agitation. Mainly moderate to high. Anyway, 5 days in and there’s been a noticeable change. Some sitting some laying down some short naps together and some quieting. CindyBum, if you’re reading this let me know. Otherwise I’m going to send you a note. I don’t know how long it will last but it’s a positive step.

I'm so happy to hear someone else with good results from taking Depakote! I've searched high and low for others' experience with it. Because it worked so well for my DH, we are now back to re-examining the dementia diagnosis. Our brain is truly the "final frontier." How meds work with each person's individual brain chemistry is still such a mystery. I don't think enough study has been done on Depakote…all findings leaned toward the negative. Yet, we have success stories. The hunt for answers continues in my journey to unravel this web of hell.
