Now We Wait
Last Thursday was the last time my DW got out of bed. She’s been in and out of consciousness for most of that time, not eating or drinking much. Tiny amounts. Hospice nurse believes she is transitioning and I agree, though of course she could rally. She mentioned days to a few weeks.
I don’t know if it’s these years of caregiving or if others have had this sense…I am somehow doing both just terrible and I’m also fine. I’d think I was numb if I didn’t have moments of crying like Dianne Keaton in “Something’s Gotta Give”. One of my DWs favorite movies.
I hope for a gentle passing.

Sending a big hug as you go through this. It’s been a long run for you and your DW. Hope for peace and strength for you in the coming days.
P.S. I love that movie too!😊3 -
@CindyBum so very sad going through this. The weight of waiting can't be described and until you have been there it's unknown grief and feeling fine almost at the same time. I wish your DW a gentle transition and strength to you. Thinking of you.

praying for you both. At some point we all will be where you are. It hard to swallow given in my case, both my mother and mother-in-law died of it and now my wife😔
