As I sit here with the love of my life in her last days, my heart continues to be overflowing with gratitude. I’m also the saddest I’ve ever been, but every walk I’ve taken the last few months I’ve been hit by the beauty of this world, the joy I had in meeting and getting loved the way I’ve been loved and loved my DW. I am remembering the depth of love we’ve shared, the consistent fun and laughter we’ve enjoyed and the amazing conversations we’ve had.

She definitely helped me mature and become a better person. My whole perspective in life shifted because of her. How can I not be grateful for all she gave me and all she let me give her these last 21 years? Even this gratitude is because of her and the way she lived her life always from a point of love, warmth and light.

I’ll be devastated in a day or two, but filled with gratitude too. What a gift she has been to my life.

Big hugs everyone. Hang in there.

    Dear @CindyBum

So good to hear from you. And what a lovely tribute to your DW. You too are an amazing woman and caregiver. Your DW is so lucky to have you in her life too. I hope her passing is quiet and peaceful.

    You are in my prayers.

Dealing with our LOs, we have all had tough times and so it’s very special that at this time in your DW’s journey you can reflect on the good times and the love you’ve shared and what made her so special. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Sending prayers to you both.

CindyBum, almost every word you wrote about your DW is one I could have written about my DH, who died 2.5 years ago. I wish both you and her as peaceful a passage as possible into your next stages.

Cindy that is such a beautiful perspective on life and love and you’ve exemplified that in your devotion and caring. Those of us blessed with such a deep love need to realize what a gift that is and hold on to the good thoughts during times of sadness.
