50 degrees and sunny here, and the roads are clear, at least down the middle. Ron and I had a nice visit and some coffee.

HB and Eagle, take care of yourselves. I'm eating well and sleeping warm, and gradually improving.

    Good afternoon Rockers.

Lorita . I'm so sorry about Sheena. Please be careful picking her up. I sure hope Mike, has something to help her, as well as you. Your both in my prayers 🙏 ❤️

JeriLynn. I would love to be in Texas, right now. The weather Boise, is having right now is cold. Have fun, relax and enjoy yourself and get lots of rest.

Ron, it's nice that you and Carl, had a good visit. It's too bad we are all so far apart, I would love to visit with any of you. Is the rash on your leg getting better?

Eagle. Sorry the flu got you down. Be very careful and take good care of yourself. The flu got me down the day before Thanksgiving, and I was sick and very week for almost a month. I did have a fever of 102, and was hearing music that no one else was hearing. When I finally went to the doctor, she told me I should have gone to ER, when my fever got that high. She said that kind of fever is much harder on older people. Im probably much older then you, but still be careful, stay warm and get lots of rest.

HB. How long will you be in the hospital? Make sure your recovery area has lot of your favorite things in it. I would want cookies and coffee close. How long will you have to be down. You will be i my prayers 🙏 ❤️.

My favorite is the Wopper Cheeseburger 🍔 from Burger King.

    Hugs Zetta

    Carl - I'm glad you're improving.

Zetta - You and I have similar weather right now. Both chilly, but at least neither of us has snow, so that's something.

HB - I should have mentioned it earlier, but I have a book recommendation for you - Bellwether by Connie Willis. She usually writes science fiction, but this isn't that. It's about fads and office life, along with chaos theory and sheep (and a bellwether). It's SO funny, from their staff meetings titled with the acronym "GRIM" (did you ever go to a staff meeting that wasn't grim?) to the restaurant that the main character always goes to that keeps changing the type of food they serve (prairie food?). It's a fast, funny read. Maybe it will help pass the time.

I earned my shower today - mostly cardio at the gym with my trainer. It was boxing and kickboxing for 40 min + other stuff. I was so done when I finished up the hour. But at least I got through it!

Now I'm going to do a couple of hours of classes - I'm almost done. I might finish up tomorrow if I'm diligent.

I hope you all have a good night.

Thanks for thinking about Sheena. Zetta, I talked to Mike about her and not much that can be done. She is 12 and that's the top of their lifespan, but she got up by herself three or four ti!rs today so that's better. She also has eaten pretty well. He has her on pain meds. I gave it to both of them earlier than usual so will be sure to do that from now on.

Zetta, the BK Whopper used to be my favorite, too.

The full moon wss beautiful last night reflecting in the pond last night. Carl glad you're feeling better but don't overdo and get plenty.of rest..

GG, you have more energy than anyone I know. Glad you enjoy your workouts. Have you been doing those a long time? About time for Rachel Maddow so better stop and give the GPs their Moist'n Meaty and Milk Bone.

HB, Prayers tonight for you for tomorrow.

    Good night, everyone.

My first day in the Seniors scheduled workouts with two trainers to advise and help each of us. I did the rowing machine, leg press, standing calf machine, chest press, another row machine, rotary ab machine and treadmill. The leg press was hard for me. I would love to do some boxing; that is not on my workout, at least not yet but there are bags in one area of the gym. My son was a good boxer - he won Golden Gloves. He as long ago given up on boxing. He likes to run for exercise now. He doesn't have a lot of time for workouts as he works overtime quite a big plus has 5 kids (4 at home).

HB, Frozen River is a good book. I enjoyed it. Best wishes, praying for you.

Lorita, I'm sorry about Sheena. It is hard to see our pets age. We love them so much; they are family.

Lorita, thinking about you and Sheena tonight hoping you both have a rest-filled sleep. It is really hard when our pets are nearing the end of their days. We lost our black lab after 16 years and still ,miss her today.

HB, wishing you a safe surgery, no pain, someone to step forward to pamper you, and a quick recovery.

    @eaglemom

I'm sorry to hear this. This year's flu is next-level.

Thanks to all for the good wishes. LOL, how long will I be in the hospital? Not at all. This is being done at the practice's surgical center under their Heal@Home protocol. My report time is 9:45 and they assure me I'll be headed home around 3pm which seems insane. An RN and PT will meet us as we get home, assist us into the house and get us settled. Tomorrow they'll come a second time and Thursday I have an appointment for my outpatient PT. I had the option of an overnight in the local hospital but don't have any medical issues that make that safer. The surgeon said they started to offer this during COVID when folks needed surgery, but hospitals were filled and not safe for otherwise healthy people.

Talk to you in a couple days.

Sending big prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery to you HB. ❤️🙏🏻

Eagle, hoping you are improving and feeling better and sending prayers for you too!

Lorita, I’m sorry Sheena is having troubles. I’m praying for you both.

Judith, hopefully your sister continues to improve in spite the obstacles of misguided family. Y’all are on my prayer list as well.

We’re on the 3rd and final day of travel, hopefully arriving around noon today for a 10 day rest at the beach campground.

sending hugs to you all from Texas!

    Good afternoon

lorita i never saw anything official. Would guess 12 inches. Think that is pretty accurate. Every bit of it is still here. We are still living in a deep freezer with no end in sight yet. I have not looked at a seed catalog. Think I will just get a few seeds at store.

Lorita glad you got to see beautiful full moon. I have all blinds shut because of cold and forgot to look. It is cloudy so doubt if i would have seen it.

HB hope you are doing ok

Mint, we Still have snow on the North side of the house, in the shade. Still a little in places in the pasture. Pretty today but north wind is chilly.

Thanks to all of you for thinking about Sheena. She seems to be eating better and gets up by herself sometimes, especially when outside or on one of their beds. Both of my rib cages are sore from lifting. Little by little we are figurng out easier ways to help her. Don't even went to think of being without her or Stormy. .

There is aggression between Max and Sammy.Max is staying in he bathroom because Sammy jumps on him.. Max is his dad and weighs 4-5 lbs.less and is about nine years old. Keeps me busy feeding all of them and helping Sheena in and out and up.I'm thinking maybe neutering Sammy might help win his aggression. What do you all Think?

HB, glad you will be home in a Couple of.hours. When I had my cholecystecomy I came home a few hours later and drove the PU that evening. Surely beats staying in the hospital.

Nice to see your post, Goodlife. I lost Barclee a couple of years ago and still miss him. Shortly before that Susie had to go to sleep because not fluid in her lungs. Really is hard to let them go.

Ron, good luck on all your tests today. Will be a long day for you but getting them all done in one day is better.

Carl, hope you are feeling better today.

Eagle, are you able to eat? When I had that awful flu I could not keep anything down for quite a while. First thing I was able to keep down was a grape popsicle-Charles had to go to two stores to find them.

JeriLynn, enjoy the nice weather on your vacation. Will you be by the Gulf?

Groceries were delivered and have been put away. FedEx will bring cat and suet for the birds later today. Those birds are eating me out of house and home!

Zetta, going to check and see if I have seen Wagon Train. Back later.

Back home, another pulmonary function test and ct scan of chest in 3 months. Neurosurgeon has me scheduled for surgery in April. Several bad disk and is the problem with my left arm pain and weakness, also causing my balance issues. I was told to be careful while waiting for surgery due to a bad jolt to the neck could possible cause paralysis.

Quickly reporting in and checking on everyone.

Ugh would be how I describe how I feel. I've never coughed so much in my life. I sent a note via the patient portal to the dr and she sent out another prescription. My rib cage / chest is so sore from coughing I'm walking bent over.

I hope DH doesn't get this from me. I'm trying to wipe down everything, but you never know. I can't get everything wiped down. Its a beautiful day here so I've open some windows to hopefully air out the germs! How typing this can exhaust me I don't know, but it has. Back after my nap.

    Y'all be safe now.

Eagle sorry you're feeling so bad. When I had the flu we sprayed and sprayed with Lysol. Charles even slept in the same bed and he didn't catch it... If I remember correctly we had a big snow on the ground. He went to town for groceries for my parents and us and I remember having the chills while he was gone. Flu is the pits!! Rest a lot and drink plenty of fluids. Hope you feel better soon.

Lorita, our campground is right on the Gulf. We take a ferry to/from the Mainland. The State of Texas runs the service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at no charge.

Or, you can drive the “long way” from Corpus Christi to Padre Island and take the scenic beach road. We’ve done both but the ferry is quicker to more shopping 😁

    Here’s a map.

JeriLynn, that looks like a great place to spend a week or two. Wish I was there! 🌴

I'm feeling reasonably well. I slept late and spent the afternoon watching movies and eating pizza with a friend. The flu is spreading here like everywhere else, but I've escaped it so far.

I'll pray for you who are having surgery. It's 9:30 and I'm turning in. Sleep tight!

Lorita - I still have a fair amount of energy, yes, but I know that I'm not what I used to be. I'm definitely in preservation mode - keep what I have for as long as possible. 😄 Working out for a long time? I guess I have, when I think of it. I used to do Jazzercise (no laughing now!!) 6 days a week back in the '80s, and I've usually gone to a gym, although not always with a trainer.

I've never had male cats, only female cats, so I don't know a lot about how neutered males are. Peggy had a mix of male and female cats and she always neutered all of them. So, sometimes they'd swat at each other, but I don't remember her telling me about any dangerous brawls. So that's what I know.

Beth - all of those are great exercises. Boxing is a lot of fun, I hope you get to do it. The heavy bags are a tough way to start (in my opinion) because there's not a lot of "give". When you punch that thing, you're likely to really feel it. Is there anyone at your gym who will do mitt work with you (you hit the person's mitted hands)? They can tell you what you're doing right and what you're doing wrong.

Are you liking what you're doing so far?

HB - I hope you're home with DH and DS looking after you.

eaglemom - I hope you're getting a lot of rest, and that you start feeling better soon.

Mint - that's just too darned cold. When do they predict you'll get out of the deep freeze?

Ron - Take care while you're waiting for surgery.

Wow, JeriLynn - that looks like a great trip.

Nothing much over here. We did have a bit of sun - that was nice. Still chilly, but not freezer temperatures.

I saw that Chuck Negron, one of the lead singers for Three Dog Night passed away today, so I listened to a few Three Dog Night songs in his honor. When I was in 7th & 8th grade they were my favorite band, and I still have a soft spot for them. Did any of you like them? They did Old Fashioned Love Song, Mama Told Me Not To Come, Joy to the World, and more.

Are you home and recuperating, HB?

Eagle, coughing is the pits! Mucinex-DM helped my coughing. Feel better soon!

JeriLynn, how's the weather over there? What a great vacation you'll have!

Ron, can you avoid the chickens for now?

Lorita, I'm doing okay. I got a late start today. I hope to be earlier tomorrow.

Are your ribs feeling any better?

    Good night now.

Iris, yes, I’ve always been a early riser, lately I’ve actually slept longer than usual.

Been busy this morning; talked to Neurosurgeon nurse this morning and my surgery has been moved up from April 29th to April 13th, also cardiology called and my February 18th appointment has been moved from the 18th to tomorrow.

Morning, cool and windy here with clouds. The moon was beautiful Last night.

My left side ribs feel better but right ones are hurting some.thanks for asking, Iris Sheena has been out three times since 5 a.m. so have been lifting.

I also liked Three Dog Night. Beatles were my favorite. I don't know any of the singers or songs anymore.

Watching Doc Martin on Ovation today. There used to be English comedies on tv on Sunday nights. Wonder why no more. Times are changing.

Here is some good free advice, purchase stock in Lysol and Clorox wipes. I'm certainly going through both of them. When I woke up I did free a bit better, but that certainly didn't last too long!!! The coughing is awful. Iris I have meds the doctor prescribed but I'm about ready to try Mucinex DM. Thanks for the idea.

Lorita your heart is so tender. Hopefully you can feel better and the dogs will also.

Ron it sounds like things are moving along for you. I'm sure you don't feel like it though.

The Big Chill, what great music and a movie.

That's its for the energy, sorry I don't mean to leave anyone out, I don't have the bandwidth or energy to think. That's pathic.
