@worse this is really interesting I’m going to google and have a good look, let’s hope this catches on all around the world, so much nicer, more pleasant and acceptable than the old medical style accommodation. I’ve never seen anything like this before - thank you.

Here is one video about what I believe is the original dementia village in Denmark. The story is regarding a PWD and his wife from Australia.

This was a great video Iris, I so wish we had a universal health system such as Denmark. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming one in Wisconsin covers the medical care costs.

Thank you so much Iris L that is an amazing documentary. We are in Australia and I hadn’t seen it. I think correct to say the disease is not so scary when you have such understanding and ,Village’s’ like that to support those concerned. I have taken the liberty of forwarding the doco to various people and organisations.

This is the one in Wisconsin that Wose told us about.

Great discussion. I watched part of the video. Don’t know if you caught it but they have more caregivers than patients. That’s a big plus. But from what I was gathering this was mainly an early onset type thing. Although they did have all ages. I didn’t see anyone like my wife there (can’t be alone at all). There is a community in Jacksonville Florida called cypress gardens that has independent, assisted, and memory care all connected so that you can transition as needed. I’m sure there are other communities like this around the country. I’ve also heard of dementia cafes. But I’ve never been to one.
