DH has been having episodes of aggression. Not really physical more like everything just aggravates him or makes him mad. We went to see his Nero yesterday and I was telling her about it. She increased his seraquel to 50 mg 2x a day. I don't know if I want to do this. Im afraid it's for me because I'm tired of walking on egg shells. I don't want him to be sleepy all the time. He has VD and Alz. I also saw his mri, lots of vascular damage.

Do you think it is pleasant for DH to be agitated much of the time? Increase the dose as instructed. It can be changed if it causes problems. Guessing what a dose of meds is going to do is not productive

You may need a reminder that many of us caretakers feel a lot of guilt for a number of things and reasons. Pat yourself on the back. You ARE a caretaker and doing the best you can in a difficult situation…a situation that is going to go on for years and will only get worse. You are a hero!!! I am betting that if your DH could control his anger he would. Give him the meds to help him and know that this is for his sake not yours.

It will probably be a benefit to both of you and if not it doesn't have to be permanent, you could reduce it later if it is not helpful.

Do not feel guilty. You did the right thing. Safety for both of you is always number one. You can’t predict with this disease if a situation will escalate into violence.
