Alzeimers and blindness

Hi. I am new to this community. My mom has the disease but to complicated it she has about10% vision and is obsessed with going to the bathroom. She is also very restless and doesn't sleep some nights. This makes caregiving difficult because she wants to use the bathroom every 5 minutes even though nothing happens at times. Each time someone has to take her due to her blindness. How do we get her to simply use the adult diapers while she has them on. She refuses to do her stuff in them. How do we get her to sleep at nights and not go to the bathroom every minute.

Honestly the only thing I can think of is to try telling her the toilet is broken and see if this will delay her from going. I assume you have had her checked for a UTI that would cause her to physically feel she has to go constantly.

Hi and welcome to 'here', but sorry for the reason.
agreeing with terei - make sure there isn't a UTI. Also inform her doc that she is so restless. There may be something doc can give her for that, even if mild. MIL is on a cocktail of a few meds without being zombied. Always ask her doc first before giving anything, but do ask about even if some melatonin might work for sleeping more restfully.
