We are all walking somebody home

My niece arranged for the Threshold Choir to come sing for my DH yesterday. It was a beautiful experience. Four people came and arranged themselves in a fashion so my DH was the audience. They sang four or five songs and left quietly. The last song was, We Are All Walking Somebody Home. That hit me like a ton of bricks and I sat on the sofa weeping. It hit me for the first time that that’s what I’m doing, walking him home. I’ve already been doing it for a long time through this disease and the many losses. Once in a while someone will ask how it’s going. Once I determine if they need to know or not, the answer is too huge to share. I think now I will answer, I’m still walking him home.

I love this description of what we are all going through. All I can add is that while walking our LO home I feel like it is going through the mountains with all the ups and downs. I’m so sorry that we are all in this but relieved that we are together helping each other with our walks. ❤️

Threshold Choir is an International group. Google them along with walking somebody home and you should find it. If your LO enjoys music, I would recommend them. It was a beautiful experience, very moving.

Thank you for reminding us of our true mission. We love these people, but it’s so much harder now. However, who else is better equipped to walk them home, than us?!
