Welcome to the message boards. First off, you are not alone. We are here to help you along, listen to you and to let you vent.

Have you checked to see if your local ALZ Chapter has any support groups? Sometimes churches offer support groups. Depending on the size of the city where you live there is Dementia Friendly support groups. Many are either virtual or in person. I'd encourage you to do both.

Don't isolate yourself. Its difficult, I know, but you need to be around people and have a routine. I don't want to overwhelm you with things now. Take a breath and know we're here for you.

english bulldog mom welcome to the "Alzheimers Club" i realize i didn't include pets in my painting a horrible oversight as i am the dad of a border collie and terrier as you are a bulldog mom. it seems you are in good dog and human hands. i would trust the dog first but i have been on the alzy road for 3 years now and my judgement may be a little of bark. your 7 months o so on the alzy road. how's it going ,reading books by others on the road, joined any alsy groups on zoom or in the local your in., were al in this together now and we get it and all uf us are in different situations because of life experiences just like alzheimers we find our ways to ajust to the given we didn't expect. i paint it helps the monkey brain, i remember what im doing then i forget . its become kind of a routine . i ask mocha and splinter and get a furry stare but am glad of there response at least its not another well you seem fine or another person that won't visit. i have a lovely care partner a must . grab your love ones and join hand for this a journey of all and as i look out my window in Vermont the snow we got yesterday is gone but you are here sharing your story it makes my alzy heart stronger some how i just can't explain it……….

Watson1 great painting. Here is a thought - how about another painting only this one of only your animals? I think that would be fantastic. My DH had never painted before his diagnosis, and now he loves painting.

I am right there with you. I ended my handyman business and feel so lost. I am happy for you that you aren't doing this alone. This is a scary and terrifying fate, but new discoveries every day.
