Need resources to find occasional in-home care for LO?

My family and I want to hire a professional aide to stay with my mother periodically for a few hours at a time. This process is new to us and we don't know where to begin or what agencies to contact in the Colorado Springs area. We're beginning to have concerns about leaving her at home alone and need to begin our search for a reliable aide. Please help point us in the right direction. Thank you.

HI Llyons - welcome to 'here', but sorry for the reason. Does your area have an elder resource center? If so, you could check with them. We have found that word-of-mouth has worked for us. Check on-line reviews and check for something that way. Sorry nothing is foolproof, but if you check around your area, you should find a suitable fit.

Also, just fyi, a lot of agencies are set up for about 4-6 hour increments. (At least, my local area) I'm sure a lot of them are probably managed in a similar way.

Another possibility is adult daycare for a day or 3 or 5 days a week…

Thank you for your response. There is a senior living home nearby. We’ll look for an Elder resource center. It’s also helpful to know about the hourly increments. Your help is greatly appreciated.
