mom is getting agressive at the bank

Mom has had her $ taken away- but she can still view her accts. She goes to the bank several times a week to ask if her money is still there. The regional VP has gotten involved as they are both worried and alarmed at her behavior stating it is aggressive. Mom's dr looked into a 5150 but declined to do it (Cya I think!). She did highly suggest that the bank call an ambulance- they won't. We've tried drs and lawyers and care advisors- nothing - seriously there is nothing we can do. California. II just don't get this.

Is the bank within walking distance from her house? Is she driving? Navigating the bus system alone?

Is she driving to the bank? I’m kind of confused at how she can see if her money is still there, but doesn’t have access to it. Could you ask the bank to call you the next time she is there and causing problems. Then call an ambulance yourself. I have attached a link that might be helpful. It explains how you can file a petition to have her evaluated.

The time to act is when your mom is being aggressive at the bank. Her physician can't invoke an involuntary hold based on your reporting. Since many PWD showtime for the doctors, it can be hard for them to have the complete picture. I sometimes made videos of dad to give his geri psych doctor insight into how dad behaved at home.

Managing this is the responsibility of the POA, who could be held liable if mom were to assault someone at the bank. Given her behavior, she likely needs a secure (aka locked) MCF or 24/7 supervision at home. It sounds like medication might be needed to dial back some of the anxiety driving the agitation and aggression and help her get unstuck on this topic. Since the bank won't call an ambulance, the POA will have to. Could they go to the bank with mom and call when she melts down? Are there other times she gets aggressive at home over other restrictions like not driving? That could present a chance to have her transported to an ER and sent to a geri psych unit.

why is it confusing- she cannot access the money but we granted her access to view the account as it is still her money- spoke to the bank and they rec keeping that viewing access
