Dirty Old Man Syndrome

My DH is stage 5 or 6 with Alzy's. He has been acting like a dirty old man. Talking about let's go have some fun (sex). We have been married 37 years and this behavior is out of norm. Very hard for me to say however, he grosses me out and has ED.

My question is that has anyone else experienced this.

pmiles1124, my DH went through a time of hyper sexuality and still does at times. He also has ED. A couple of years before going to MC, he was constantly trying to grope me and it made me very nervous and even angry. I called his neurologist's office and told them what was happening. They prescribed some medication, (Seroquel), and that helped calm him down. This can happen with progression of the disease. I know it is hard to deal with and hard to talk about. I hope your DH's neurologist or whatever doctor he sees can help you with this.

Sorry for your troubles. Please search on this forum for "hypersexuality." There is a very helpful thread.

As one of the posters said, "Please check with your doctor about trying Cimetadine. It is the generic for Tagament, and studies have shown that it helps elderly men with dementia who have hypersexuality."
