Our family member living with Dementia refuses to shower or bathe and this has been an on going struggle thw past 16 months.
However, if and when she is going to see her siblings in their 80s too or needs to go out of the house, she will shower.
The problem is mom refuses to leave the house unless its to see her sisters or she needs to go to see her care team.
It has now been since July 4th that her last shower occured.
When we talk about it she gets embarrassed and rages.
we have tried so many suggestions: making the room comfy and cozy, playing her music, buying a nice bench, but without any success. So we are wondering if anyone has figured this one out on a regular basis.
We dont want mom to feel bad or embarassed but Even a weekly shower would be nice.

Showering becomes an issue quite often. I used the wipes when nothing else worked and the no rinse shampoo caps.
