Be careful what you say as a joke <sigh>

So my DH (mid to late stage 5) was talking to me yesterday about how he was itcy most of the time and he thinks it's the body wash or something he's using. Although I don't ever see him scratching at himself and I'm with him 98% of the time.

He showed me his arms (which looked pretty normal to me) so I jokingly say "ah, maybe you should shave off that arm hair, it could be what's makeing you itcy." And I laughed and said, "is a joke Hun" and he smiled.

Well, a little later that morning he went into his bathroom and I could hear his shaver going, but thought nothing of it as he is often trimming his beard. That was followed with the shower and hair dryer going so it reassured me even more that this was just his usual routine.

Yup, you guessed it .... he came out and showed me his arms, he had shaved them! I couldn't help it, I blurted out "oh wow! That was a joke, I didn't mean for you to actually shave them!" Followed a bit later with a "I hope it won't be itchy as it grows back in. "

Oh my, why can i not just keep my mouth shut!?

I guess no real harm done, but goodness it's weird seeing his shaved arms and feeling the roughness of the britsly short stubble there now.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry.Knowing he's progressed again to the point of not understanding a joke and taking everything I say as truth to be followed. <sigh>
