A lot of tests and Q about Aricept

My letter was just eaten by the app. Dang.
I haven’t written in ages, but I have taken tons of tests. Finished and have results of P tau and Pet Scan. Counting disclaimers so far AlZ is what I have. Friday was the neuropsych test which truly upset me.

I take generic Aricept which is working until it stops. I am on 5mg. I’ve read doses can be higher. Can anyone tell me what they are on? I apologize but Google and Perplexity really aren’t people lol

I still shake a lot and have some balance and I walking problems. I wonder what blood tests I haven’t taken ?!

I take quite a few symptom helping drugs, like you I take Donepezil but at 23mg per day. it very helpful with clearing of the "mental fog" I use to have all the time, I have been taking it for 2-3 years with little to no side-effects. I also take two additional drugs for symptoms Galantamine ER 16mg and Memantine ER 28mg. The combination of the three seem to be really helpful for keeping the brain fog away. You probably already know about Leqembi and Kinsula, which are both "intervention" type drugs that both help remove the plaque buildup on brain that Alzheimer's causes. I am on Leqembi so I can only speak to that. I have been talking Leqembi now for just shy of a year now and it has been extremely helpful!! PET scans from before starting on Leqembi and about 15 infusions in showed the plaque had not increased. I am hoping with my next one it will show a significant reduction of the plaques. One last thing, sorry I talk alot sometimes lol, if you neurologist is not actively and aggressively working on your behalf, please fire them and get a new one. My first neuro thought h

.. sorry, hit post accidentally, 🙄 .... thought he would try all kinds of herb and spices rather than symptom drugs or intervention type drugs so please feelree to change Dr's if you don't like them or feel they are not looking out for you. You will find one that is a good fit for you. Okay, been yapping on for a while now, we all hope to hear back from you on how things are going. GEH

Iahree that your neurologist should be someone you feel comfortable talking to about medications. Try reaching out to him/her and see what response you get.
