Seek advice regarding anger of person with Alzheimers
I help a longtime friend who has Alzheimers. My longtime friend's family moved him from his house to an apartment for seniors because he wasn't ever cleaning his house (and he refused to have a house cleaner come in to clean) and he wasn't eating regularly. The apartment provides housekeeping, laundry service, and meals. He has a large, rowdy dog that must be leashed at all times per the apartment's rules, but he refuses to regularly leash it, and when other residents express concern, he gets angry and aggressive and confronts them. He also acts like the police of the apartment grounds, going up to people and asking them if their dogs pooped and telling them they'd better pick up their poo. One day, a resident's dog was barking for a long time, and he got angry and told them if they didn't shut their dog up he was going to kill it. His family is considering moving him back to his house. Is moving him back to his house the answer?? What would you advise?

Medication for starters. The question of moving him and to where needs to be answered soon. The facility director will only give him so many chances about the dog not being leashed. At some point the director will ask him to leave. It’s matter of safety for the other residents. A large rowdy dog is a danger to people who are mobility challenged, or are ‘frail’. I have osteoporosis and if a dog knocked me down, a fractured vertabrae is a valid risk.
If he wasn’t capable of taking care of himself before, he’s not going to be capable of it in the future. Dementia patients do not re-learn lost skills. He’s going to need a caregiver if moved back home. They will most likely need to re-home the dog before trying another facility.

Your friend appears to require a higher level of care
The large dog represents a legal liability should it get off leash. I also feel for the dog if it is not being fed and exercised regularly.
