Monitoring Food Intake

I've been noticing mom overeating. She will make breakfast (yogurt and coffee), she will make lunches like Chicken Cordon Blue, Meatloaf. My sister makes and freezes them, so she can pull them out and defrost, cook & eat it for her lunches. Recently I have noticed she will come down for breakfast, then come down for a snack (usually a fruit), she then came down for "lunch" because she was hungry, then she came down after that meal like 10 minutes later and made another meal because she was still hungry, then she came down 5 minutes later and wanted to make a grilled cheese. This was all before noon. I told her she had the breakfast and the other 2 meals, she then got mad and didn't make the grilled cheese and went to her room. So my question to everyone is what do you do about food? For snacks I take her to the store and let her pick out her snacks, then I don't take them into the house when I bring the groceries inside. I wait until she is asleep and I bring them into the house and each day I give her 2 snack containers and fill them with one of her snacks, because she would eat all of the snacks in one day if I left them with her. I recently had to put a baby door handle cover to go down to our laundry room because she was doing laundry multiple times a day and also she let one of our dogs up with another dog and they almost fought, so this prevents her from letting the dog downstairs up. Thank you for any help you can give, and looking for how to transition to helping mom in the shower, this is something I have not overcome. I know I've had lots of suggestions, I am just being a chicken.

MIL had food issues on and off for a while. Sometimes she would simply forgot that she already ate, and other times I really think the mind wasn't communicating with the stomach whether it was full or not. I think this is fairly common. We put a type of lock on the pantry, but left out snacks she could eat at any time. We put fruit or sometimes yogurt at her eye-level in the fridge, so that would be what she went for.

The handle cover you are using is a great idea! and no, you are not 'just being a chicken'. This stuff can get on your nerves quickly.
