I bought DW a wheel chair today

The myoclonus (jerking) is so bad she cant walk even with an aide holding her arm.

So she will have a transport wheelchair

She is a fall risk and I don't want her in pain from a broken bone
Her eyes don't move to track objects.
Her brain is slowly shutting down.

50 years ago I asked the wonderful girl i ever met to marry me. and she said yes.
Now I cant even say goodby since she has no idea of anything.
but she always knew she was loved beyond her wildest dreams

I remember a some"awkward" situations and I would hear her voice at 2AM whispering
"can you be VERY quiet ? "

The part about her eyes not moving to track objects really hit a chord with me. This is the case with my DW too and your post is the first I have ever seen this discussed.

I’m sorry Crushed. It may be a sign that things are changing after a long time of no change. That’s got to be difficult for you as I know walking was one of the few things she could still do.

I’m sorry, Crushed. One more decline and heartbreak to face. Last week I arrived at a Christmas party to find DH in a wheelchair for the first time. I was surprised, but rationalized that it was easier to transport him from his cottage to a central gathering place using a chair. A caregiver who is exceptionally fond of DH whispered to me, “We don’t let Coach walk much anymore. We’re afraid he’ll fall.” You are so right. It is perpetually discouraging.

To my knowledge, DH has not tracked objects for the past several years. Just to get him to make a semblance of eye contact with me takes a great deal of effort. It’s all very sad.
