LGW Blindsided by hallucinations

My DH told me there was a pig outside our window. Instead of being thrilled that he had actually said something I told him there was no pig. I am so irritated with myself. I know he won't remember the conversation but I can't believe I argued with him. I hate this disease. He doesn't have many hallucinations (that I know of) so when they occur I am not ready.

  • Don't get down on yourself too much. None of us are born how to react to things we don't expect. You will find other things you'll think should have been handled differently, but we all do that from time to time because we are human beings.

  • That's OK, if my DH told me there was a bear on our porch, I'd probably believe him.

Indeed don't beat yourself up LGW. Impossible to be on your toes all of the time, denying it is the rationale response and you'll probably react differently the next time. Sometimes there is comfort in the fact that he won't remember the interaction.

  • Victoria, if there was a laugh icon, I’d use it on your post. 🤣

  • I sometimes say the wrong thing to my Husband too. You were just having a natural reaction to his comment, you have to remember you are just being normal and saying a normal thing. We can't be perfect and it sounds like you are really trying very hard to do the right things. I do things like that all the time because this disease throws us unexpected things to deal with.
