Hello everyone

:) I am new to the group , I am a full time caregiver to my mom who has been diagnosed with severe alzheimers/dementia on top of a brain injury and a few other things I didn't know about she has been declining for years they kept saying it was mental health , well Last 3 months I have pushed to find out what's wrong with her finally got someone who listened to me and tested her , I know the diagnosis is bad but I can learn to accepted it and care for her , I have lived with her for 21 years watched all changes she has went through and now I feel lost things have changed alot over the years for her. She can't do the things she use to do , she can barley walk , calls me mom alot because I care for her everyday I want to say to all caregivers you are doing a amazing job your not alone there is alot of us doing the samething as you , take it one day at a time each day is a new day

You’re doing an amazing job for your mom and accepting the new reality is the most peaceful thing you can do for yourself and your mom. Thanks for sharing and keep coming back with any questions or comments about your dementia journey with your mom.
