    I am so sorry to hear about Peggy’s passing, although her suffering is over and she is now in a better place.

    Coincidentally, my sister Nancy is at end stage, and the hospice nurses are telling me that her time could come any day now. She has stopped eating and drinking, and is asleep most of the time.

    We both can say we were lucky to have our little sisters in this life.

    Hopefully we will joyfully see them again when our turn comes.

    Hey, maybe the 4 of us can get together 😊

    Peace to you, GG.

    @For My Sister Thank you - and I'm sorry you're you're approaching the same place where I've just been. The symptoms/behaviors sound much the same. I hope that your sister's passing is as peaceful as Peggy's was. In spite of all of her suffering, the process of death didn't seem that bad for her. She stayed mostly asleep and just stopped breathing.

    It's a surreal experience to have to plan your little sister's funeral. The planning is going to haunt me for awhile. But yeah, we were lucky to have them.

    Ha! I'm pretty sure Peggy will volunteer to provide the music and sing for us 🙂

    I am so very sorry that I am just now seeing this. Seems like things have been so hectic lately that I have missed a lot of the posts. I want to thank you for the kind words you've said to me while we've both sought solace and support through these discussions. Finding someone else that had the same diagnosis as my DH was so wonderful. Peggy was a beautiful person, and I'm sure she was just as beautiful on the inside.

    I just learned of your sister's passing in your post on the spouse/partner forum. As you may recall my DW has a very similar form of dementia, Semantic Variant of PPA. My DW I thought was also a bit farther along her passage through Stage 7, so your post hit me quite hard. Every day I wake up wondering if today will be the day. Or will it be another year, or two, away.

    Anyway, my condolences. And like CStrope, I appreciated the comments you provided to my various posts.

    I didn't realize you too had a loved one with Semantic Variant of PPA. Have they noted it as FTD or ALZ. My DH will move to MC on 4/1. I just can't do it any more

    @Vitruvius Thank you.

    I remember -- I kind of keep track of the FTD caregivers here, just because our situation is a bit different than others. FTD and PPA are a different kind of hard.

    I also remember thinking that Peggy and your DW were on kind of parallel tracks, and I thought she had at least another year in her. This last year was a bear for her though. She really struggled. She went over one cliff and then another, and then another. I became more and more afraid for her.

    To be honest, I think she willed herself to let go. She told me several times this last year that she couldn't do this anymore. And that was Peggy talking, not the dementia talking. You can kind of tell when your LO is having a moment of clarity, and that's what Peggy chose to tell me during her moments. In response I always told her that she didn't have to do this if she didn't want to, and that it was okay not to. Killed me to say that, but I knew it was the right thing to say at the time.
