60 hours with no electricity, 72 hours without TV, phone or internet.

Stuck in the house with a spouse that does nothing but watch TV and drink beer.

I had to watch him every minute to prevent him from opening the fridge or trying to fix the TV. He fidgeted, paced, and repeated himself all day, for 3 days.

I pity those of you who can't leave the house. I don't know how you manage. My daily trip to the Y for a swim keeps me sane.

    I struggled. Full of pity, for him and myself. I can honestly say I felt suicidal and homicidal.

    Ironically, I toured a facility earlier this week, hoping to use the Medicare 5 day respite stay. At the end of the tour, I stopped by the facility's financial office and was told, "Oh, we don't bill Medicare." WTF?????

    @JDancer

    You have my sympathies.

    I once survived a widespread 5-day outage with an irrational middle schooler with autism. Had I known it would be so long, I would have checked into a hotel room.

    So sorry JDancer! Last month we went about 30 hours with out power. My HWD/Alz could not remember we had a storm . I also had a hard time keeping the flashlights out of his hands because he kept “ putting them away “. I can’t imagine going thru it for 60 -70 hours. Yikes
