I'm an almost 69 year old male diagnosed with vascular dimensia about 6 or so months ago. Can't recall my last several or more birthdays, Christmas times or such. Almost tabula Rosa since around Covid (no I didn't get Covid). I am taking Aricetpt and Namenda for brain health and Zoloft and Remeron for depression. Had my first 'night terror' last night. Very scary. Is this a pretty common effect of these medicines? The 'Frankenstein' headline goes with the lightning bolts- electricity that I sometimes feel going off in my head. A strange sensation, but that's the only way I know to describe it. Lately I've been finding myself sitting at my laptop and staring at the Google screen- hands in position- but not knowing what to type. Kinda scary y'all.

The sensations of electrical zaps in the head is common with a number of antidepressants. I experienced these "brain zaps" when I was on EffexorXR and later on escitalopram (generic Lexapro). The symptoms continued for many months after I weaned off each medication. I do not have any type of dementia, but was taking the meds for depression and anxiety.
