I am new here. I was Diagnosed with Alzheimer's in Sept. Had the PET Scan and EEG 1st and was diagnosed. The Dr's want to do an MRI and Lumber Puncture as well. I'm so scared. My Husband has been helping me a lot. I have 2 kids that I love deeply 16 and 23. I have been reading books and doing crossword puzzles as well as word find. I'm a Respiratory Therapist and I am not allowed to practice anymore been doing this for 31 yrs. It is hard not to be able to take care of patients anymore. My family and friends have been there for me since my diagnosis.

    Welcome mrsvent93,

I was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when I was 55 years old too. This was 4 years ago. I had 2 lumbar punctures. The 1st lumbar puncture confirmed that and again 6 months later. The results changed dramatically. I understand how hard it is for you not able to care for patients anymore. Sounds like you have a loving family and friends which will help you immensely.

Post as much as you want or reach out to the Alzheimer’s Association for help and resources.
