Electric Razor

welcome! We recently purchased the Phillips Norelco triple head shaver and it is easy to use and clean. I hand it to my husband and when he is “ done” , I ask him if I can touch up a few spots. I also purchased the pre shave liquid called Lectric Shave to splash on his face before he starts

Thankyou Jgirl57 I’m going hunting for the razor and Lectric Shave splash on. My DH likes shaving himself but we have had no success with a basic electric shaver, I actually shave himself with laughs and kisses.

I still had to supervise with an electric shaver. I caught him shaving his arms with it. 😪

My DH has an electric shaver…think it might be a Phillips and when cleaning, parts went down the drain. So I am on a hunt for a new one. I will look into this one. Thanks!

We recently purchased the Phillips Norelco triple head too. I think it was $29 on Amazon. (I started shaving my husband with a razor blade and shaving cream after he brought the night light out of the bathroom asking me if that is what he shaved with.) The electric shaver takes literally 2 minutes. He’s never had an electric one so he doesn’t have a clue how to use it. It is a wet/dry so you just open it after each shave and run water over the inside and outside and let it air dry. I just use it dry on his face with a back and forth motion, and it does a good job. It is so easy. I wish we would have gone this route years ago.
Hope this helps!1 -
My husband has a short beard and mustache. I’ve taken over trimming and grooming it. He had always been meticulous about keeping it neat looking. It’s been a real experience keeping it looking nice! I use a shaver/trimmer. The shaving part is his neck and under his chin. Good timing because I just bought a new one after the one we had for 8 months failed. I’ve come to the conclusion that cheaper is probably better, or at least no worse. None of the ones in the affordable range (under $100) seem to last that long. He went through several over the years before dementia. The one I just paid $20 on Amazon seems every bit as good and easier to use than the older $40 one. They both have a ton of attachments that we’ll never use and a lot of excess packaging. But they are definitely easier to use than a razor.
Lectric Shave that he always used works well and Aqua Velva is a ice basic after shave which smells nice and leaves his skin feeling soft.
Maybe some of the guy caregivers here could chime in with some tips.

I have to shave my DH as he just stopped wanting to do it himself. I have a triple head Philips Norelco that works well but I have a hard time with shaving his mustache because of the size of the heads. I followed the instructions but it just work that well on his fairly coarse mustache. I have a groomer set with a precision trimmer but it doesn’t work that well either and DH will only let me work on it for so long before he makes me stop. Any good small trimmers someone could recommend?

We’ve had a couple small beard trimmers that work fine for shaping his beard, but mustaches are tricky. It’s difficult for me to get a straight line just above his lip. He sometimes moves just enough, or my hand isn’t steady enough, to get it even. I often use a small scissors and even then don’t do it all in the same session. Taking a little tiny bit off every other day or so seems to work for us. It’s amazing how quickly it seems to grow! Like your husband, he doesn’t always have the patience for me to work on it for very long.

My wife has a couple of Remington shavers, one corded and one cordless. They work fine for shaving her legs and chin but won't faze my beard. The back-and-forth motion of the blades chafes my skin and leaves the whiskers. I guess that is because she has fine hair and I do not. I used a Norelco rotary when I used an electric shaver, but my curly hair causes ingrown whiskers with a rotary so I went back to a blade long ago.
I have a little trimmer with a half inch wide clipper, an ear/nose hair attachment, and a couple of other things I don't use, but mustache trimming seems to go best with scissors.
