I posted a few days ago a question about men's briefs and it was suggested that I purchase male "guards" as a way to combat the beginning urinary issues….several people answered, and then, today, we had this new turn of events. I thought folks might enjoy….

Well, a chuckle for those who answered my initial question…..DH has been wearing the male guards recommended here, for a few days. They've worked great. He is also in a significant nosedive, losing capacity daily. …..so today he comes from the bathroom, pants down, trying to figure out, "Where is that thing?"

Where is the pad? it's not visible, so we look in his half up-half down underpants. No pad. hmm.

Is it on the floor? No…Where is it? Did he throw it away?

Could it be under the family jewels? …So, here I am, gingerly shifting the precious artifacts,…

lo and behold, the pad is there, folded in half towards the back.

I carefully reposition the pad and all is well again.

    Dear M5M,

Thanks for the hilarious story and chuckles I experienced while reading it. We are all privately going through this living he'll, doing the very best we can to help our spouses. We do encounter some bizarre and hilarious things that come up in dementia world. So much of it is heartbreaking, exhausting and depressing that it is a ray of sunshine to be able to share some humor when we encounter it. Ty for sharing, I really enjoyed it. When that time comes for us, I'll remember to look under the family jewels! Lol

Never thought of keeping the family jewels in a padded box. Thanks for the suggestion! 😃
