Transitioning While Alert and Active

My LO 82 has Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s, heart failure, kidney disease, COPD AND asthma. The doctor said she is transitioning. She sleeps a lot, but talks normally, walks to the bathroom, and family room on her own, helps to bathe herself. Other than the sleeping a lot and memory loss, she seems normal. But says she’s cold all the time, has low grade fevers a lot. Can someone who seems normal up and walking around be transitioning?

She could be having organ failure without overt symptoms yet that will eventually be fatal

With the other life limiting conditions are likely playing a part.
FWIW, I had a sense my dad was progressing towards his end-of-life in the 2 weeks before he passed. His dramatic weight loss, despite eating/drinking, was changing how he looked. Aside from my DH, no one agreed with me. Hours before he passed, I'd brought him Chik-Fil-A for lunch and we had a nice visit where he talked about seeing my sister. She died in 1994 which spooked me. He got up to use the bathroom a couple times and even flirted with the SLP who came to see him.
I stopped by mom's house to suggest she go visit him that afternoon and she said she'd go the next day. I also called his brother, at DH's urging, to warn him about the change in appearance and suggested he visit asap. He said he'd go the next day. Dad passed from complications of aspiration pneumonia around 10pm that night. They were shocked. The aides, facility's doctor and DON were also surprised. His cause of death was aspiration pneumonia.

I’ve seen a look in her eyes the last few weeks that had me worried. But she acts so normal, I thought it was just me worrying too much. I’m used to being around and caring for family members, I guess mentally I can’t accept what is happening with my mother. Thank you so much.

Thank you, I did look up the information you mentioned. I didn’t think about organ failure without symptoms.
