Breathing a little easier

I am breathing a sigh of relief for a change. A month ago I placed my husband in a very small ALF only housing up to 7 residents. Right now they have 4. I placed him after a stay in Geri Psych. Today I was told he will be getting physical therapy and will be attending an adult day care a couple times a week. This will keep his mind occupied away from his long time hoarding, his anger toward me due to his infidelity delusions, and keep him moving instead of laying in bed. I really think I made the right choice for him and for me. I’m internally celebrating.

Thanks for posting this, it gives me a couple of ideas I hadn't thought about. DW is in late stage 6 and refuses to do much exercising. And, she has serious separation anxiety and is constantly shadowing. The idea of getting her into some kind of PT could solve a couple of issues. I also like the idea of a small ALF because she can't stand crowds or large gatherings of any kind. This could be a good way to ease into a facility where she could get the daily care she needs and be monitored. Without me, for the first time in ten years. That would be quite wonderful.
