Here are some hydrangeas where I live. They grow naturally, no one tends to them.

    Iris, the hydrangea is gorgeous!!!

I can't remember if I shared my clematis previously. If so, I apologize.

Mint, you got a lot of rain! Lorita and Judith and Carl seem to have had a lot of rain too. Do you go to the Amish stores often, and what do you like to buy there? My MIL liked to go to the Amish stores. She liked looking around and talking with the people; she often would purchase spices.

JeriLynn, glad you had a good trip!

We celebrate our soon to be 10 year old grandson today. They come over tonight. I'm making tacos and Molten Lava Cake.

This morning I realized that "old" people discuss how they sleep and the weather so here goes…there were tornado warnings off and on all night and I mostly dozed…lol

More bad stuff headed this way today. Thankfully during daylight!

    The flower pics are beautiful

Jl …glad you had a good trip and got to do what you set out to do.

No idea what happened to that post. We had another inch of rain and it is so wet. Judith, guess that is what old people talk about. I was awake a !ot because Stormy was scratching and couldn't sleep. The last allergy shots didn't work too well.

Beth, the flowers are so pretty. I love that clematis. Do you know the name of it? I only have one left after last summer.

Carl , just now saw your last post.. Glad you didn't get storms. We have had do much rain -wish we could save some for July and August. There is a creek about a mile north of us that is out of banks. A UPS truck drowned out trying to cross water just south of the bridge. I need to get the GPs back to the vet but doubt I could get over the roads. In the car. Three lights on the instrument panel in the PU are coming on and staying on. No idea why unless it might be the fuses.

The clematis (only one I have, but it's a good one) is 'Piilu.' At the other house, we had 15 or so clematis. A good place to get clematis online is Donahue's in MN.

    Will type in recipe later.

Getting ready to go to a graduation party.

    Molten Chocolate Cakes

3/4 cup semisweet chocolates (can use chocolate chips)

    1/2 cup butter

    1 cup powdered sugar

    2 eggs

    2 egg yolks

    6 Tbsp. flour

In a medium saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Whisk in powdered sugar, eggs, egg yolks and flour. Whisk well to incorporate all ingredients.

Pour into 4 greased ramekins. Bake at 425 for 14 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit for 1 minute, then carefully run knife around the cake edges and invert the ramekins onto individual plates. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

I will double recipe to serve 8. I've made this many times. It's a favorite with the kids requesting it,.

Refrigerate leftovers. Beth's note: What leftovers?!!?

Carl - Grandma's is exactly like the Lost Dog - right down to the great food.

JeriLynn - I love all of your photos - although that one with the wall of blue/gray clouds is really intimidating.

HB - ugh, sorry about the freezer and fridge. It's a nightmare.

Lorita - Rhododendrons need a fair amount of shade and cooler weather (so I've been told), which pretty much describes western Washington. I should have taken photos of our block - every other yard has rhododendrons running amok. So many different colors - white, red, hot pink, purple. We're all pretty colorful right now.

Mostly I'm good with bugs - but there are two that gross me out - grasshoppers and the one I call The Shiny Horror. The Shiny Horror is just too much. But a three inch grasshopper is not going to make me happy either.

Iris - I love the pink hydrangeas. We have some blue ones in our yard although they haven't bloomed yet. They're close!

Beth - that clematis is amazing!!! I had one for awhile and was thrilled when I got one bloom.

Now I want chocolate lava cake - thank you for posting the recipe.

jfkoc - I'm going to go down the old people path kicking and screaming. 😄

Over here on the west coast - I've only been up for about an hour. I got to sleep in - first day like that in more than a week! I'm still drinking my morning tea and contemplating the household chores I need to get done today.

It's so nice and sunny (here I am, being old!), so we've got everything open to air out the house.

Last week when we were in Charleston we both had severe cases of FOMO - and we did in fact, miss out. While we were gone, there was a fairly intense geomagnetic storm, enough that our neck of the woods got showered with auroras for a couple of nights. We knew it was going to happen (a few hours in advance) because my s.o. has this amazing app on his phone - the Glendale App. It's this one guy who lives on the Isle of Skye and he updates every day on the solar winds, the coronal holes on the sun - any piece of info that might help predict an aurora. So, people posted all of their aurora pics …. and we didn't. Oh well, next time. 😄

I haven't seen Outlander, but I know of it - and I suspect I'd like it.

Fear of missing out, according to Gary Goben of Denim & Company, sorry for butting in, GG.

Hadn't thought of that, Iris, but Sheena is the one afraid of thunder. I will mention that to Mike when he comes to give allergy shots. The sun has been Shining and it's 81

    Evening everyone,

I spent the morning at church decorating for Vacation Bible School and got home just before the afternoon’s Thunderstorms . Power outage for about an hour. More storms coming and possible tornadoes.

My early morning was chicken house shenanigans. A robin has built a nest up high in the roof in there and a baby fell into a nesting box below the roof🙄🤷‍♀️ The hens were all twitterpated so I put on some gloves and put the baby inside an Amazon box lined with shavings and made a nest out of a potting basket. I think the baby will be protected from the hens and Mama will still be able to get to her. (? him/her?) I’ll check before I close the chicken coop for the night.
The second set of barn swallows have hatched and they seem fine. I think these birds have sent word to all their friends to come to my house 🙄😂

Roscoe the youngest baby goat grew A LOT while we were away. He’s scampering everywhere.

DH has a man cold so he’s been in bed most of the day.

Oliver Kitty decided he wanted fresh rainwater so here he is drinking from the downspout.

    IMG_3707.jpeg

Hope everyone has a good sleep tonight- see ya tomorrow!

Cute picture of Oliver Kitty. They know where everything is. Hope your husband gets over his cold soon. Hopefully the mother bird will find her baby. Probably will hear him.

Sheena spent quite a !ot of time on the porch this afternoon so let her in and looked at the barn swallow's nest.Saw two babies looking over the edge with their mouths wide open There may have been three, not sure. I went back inside and watched and here came mom to feed them. She won'go to the nest if anyone is on the porch. They're ten days old and have feathers.Google says they might fledge at 18. days and up. Haven't sat on the porch today so have seen the humming birds. Did see Rusty this morning so gave him peanuts and sunflower seeds and refilled the bird feeders. The geranium now has very few leaves, thanks to Rusty or maybe a rabbit. I can see more caladiums coming up. Found a purple basil in the grass so transplanted it to the pot outside the gate.

Weatherman just said more severe weather tonight. Mostly SW of here
