Seroquel

Based on posts I’ve read on here, I asked my husband‘s neurologist for Seroquel to help with sleep and behavior. I’d like to know from others experiences how long it took for the medication to work? How long before a noticeable difference was noticed? The main thing that I’m hoping for is successful sleep through the night. I’ve mentioned that he’s been on Trazodone but lately that doesn’t seem to have same effect that it once had. Thank you all.

My DW has been on Serequol for about a couple months now. Dr started her on a low dose at the beginning . She is also taking Zoloft. She was getting very anxious and agitated just on Zoloft so Dr prescribed Seroquel. Started with 25 mg twice a day. Didn’t notice any improvement so went up to 50mg twice a day. Then went to 100mg twice a day and so far this seems to work, less anxiety and agitation. Still had these but way more manageable. She sleeps through the night maybe getting up once to use bathroom.

Seroquel and Zoloft combined was effective almost immediately for DW, now in stage 6. Sleeping through the night within a few days, reduction in hostilities and paranoia in a week or so.

My DW has been on seroquel for over a year. She started on 25 mg twice a day and over the course of the year it was gradually increased to 75 mg three times a day. She has been stable on this dose since mid March. She sleeps great.

My thought was that it makes your LO sleepy. Wouldn’t taking it at different times of the day make them sleepy all day? I not clear on how that works. Also, did it increase appetite?
