Hi Lee, lots of others on here will have great ideas and have been dealing with this issue longer than we have. But in our situation I have had to start doing rather than asking. Handing her a toothbrush ready to go with water running and me also brushing my teeth demonstrating what we are doing now. I have to put on my no nonsense voice and just state that this is what we are doing now and I try not to give her the option to resist. She isn't making other decisions so I don't let this be the one she gets to suddenly be stubborn about.

With DW, I finally just had to take charge of her hygiene. She wasn't showering or shampooing and it became obvious she wouldn't take care of herself. I get her shower ready, turn the water on to a comfortable temperature and tell her it's time for her shower. I made standing appointments with the beautician for shampoo and styling or trim if needed. She still brushes her teeth but not often enough so I will have to monitor that.
When I tell her her shower is ready she always laughs, but takes it anyway.

We hop into the shower together (big long shower no doors to contend with) I hand him a beautifully smelling piece of medicated soap, he washes his ‘private’s’ ha ha I use a shower scrubber and soft soap and scrub his back which he really likes etc. he’s then out and it’s my turn. When I get out it’s shave time with music on my iPhone. Day after day repeat repeat. It works. Good luck!
