Hi,

I'm new to this group. We have no diagnosis but I am starting to wonder what is going on. My husband is a different person at night, usually after 10 pm He becomes defiant, combative, and says things that are just typical of his normal behavior. Is this Sundowning?

yes, it sounds like sundowning. Maybe best to consult a neurologist or psychiatrist to determine the best course to control this. Best to you, it all will keep changing, good luck

Seeking help early is a good idea. I was amazed that our first appointment with a neurologist was going to be a 9 month wait. He was peeing all over the house and his memory was declining at a rapid pace, in addition to sundowning agitation. I called for an appointment every week until there was a cancellation opening available. All the tests can take months, and you need help ASAP before a possible episode of violence.
