Sleeping Issues: need advice

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.
My dad has been living with Alzheimer’s for about 10 years. He’s still fairly active—he can ride his bike and we go on walks together—but recently we’ve been struggling with sleep. When it’s time for bed, he just can’t seem to “wind down.” Instead of resting, he wants to pace around. I’ve tried just about everything: a calm nightly routine, dim lights, a cool and comfortable bedroom… but when it’s actually time to sleep, he won’t settle. It almost feels like he’s too exhausted to realize that lying down would help him rest. Once I finally get him to bed, he’ll sleep for a while, but around 2 a.m. he’s up again—wandering, pacing, and still clearly exhausted. At times, it almost seems like he’s sleepwalking and not fully aware of where he is.
He’s currently on olanzapine, and his doctor recently increased the dosage, but it doesn’t seem to be making a difference. I even tried giving him a THC/CBD gummy (indica strain) last night, hoping it might help, but it actually seemed to make things worse. He was also really agitated before bed (so I expected it to be a rough night) but he was up more last night then he ever has been before. I only gave him half a gummy, so maybe going to try a full one tonight?
This change in sleep has only started within the last two weeks. Before that, he would wake up, use the bathroom, and then fall back asleep fairly easily. Now, because he isn’t sleeping, he’s not only more agitated at night but also more confused during the day. At this point, both of us are running on very little sleep, and I’m not sure what else to try.
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of sleep change with their loved one? Any advice or suggestions would be so appreciated.

We have tried other medications such as Trizipine and Seroquel but those seem to make him more agitated. I know how the disease progressed but i'm hoping to keep the parts of my dad that I still have HERE while we can and not loose them just because he is sleep deprived.

My DH was prescribed 100 mg of Trazodone at night, and that helped for several months.

My DH also was put on trazadone along with seroquel and it helped. He will wake up for a couple of hours but will go back to bed on his own.
